ACHIEVEMENTS OF HARYANA BADMINTON ASSOCIATION

 

  1. Haryana Badminton Association has successfully taken up the issue of creating   infrastructure for Badminton throughout Haryana by construction of two badminton court hall even in the remote districts of Haryana.
  1. In Addition to that 4 courts halls are under construction in Faridabad, Gurgoan, Rohtak, Sonipat and Ambala.
  1. A multipurpose hall has already been approved in Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula in which 8 badminton courts can be accommodated. This multipurpose hall can be used to host even International Tournament.
  1. Haryana Badminton Association has also taken up the issue of recruitment of Badminton Coaches with Government of Haryana. 7 coaches have already been recruited and posted in various districts.
  1. Recruitment of 10 more coaches is under process and HBA’s goal is that every district headquarter of Haryana must have a coach. Creation of infrastructure and availability of coaches is improving the standard of badminton in Haryana.
  1. Haryana Men’s team created history by inning the Bronze medal in the National Badminton Championship held at New Delhi in the year 2013. HBA has given cash award of 51,000/- to the each player of the 8 member team.
  1. Haryana men’s team has won the North Zone Badminton Championship consecutively for two years i.e. 2012 and 2013. Before this Haryana men’s team had won the North Zone Badminton Championship only once i.e. in the year 2005.
  1. Players from Haryana like Akshit Mahajan and Saurabh Sharma has already represented the country in the Asian Badminton Championship and world Championship respectively.
  1. Ketan Chahal and Saurab Kapoor have participated in the World Universities. Neeraj Vashisht of Haryana has also participated in the International Tournaments i.e. Vietnam Open and Thailand Open.
  1. Ekta Kalia of Faridabad has been the Haryana Women’s Champion for the last 4 years. HBA has given a cash award of 51,000/- for her. 
  1. Haryana Badminton teams are participating in Sub- Junior, Junior and Senior National Badminton Championships every year. HBA has ensured that all these teams are traveling in the 3 tier AC instead of 2nd class sleeper.
  1. Hardik Makkar and Kartik Jindal are Ranked No. 1 in India U-17 ( Doubles) in Jan. 2014
